In 2004, it was purchased by a collector who decided to commission a complete, frame-off restoration performed to the highest standards, without regard for cost or market value.

Restoration

Expert craftsmen carried out an extensive restoration, paying meticulous attention to every component:

complete overhaul of the chassis, suspension, mechanics, and electrical system,
bodywork and paint finished in authentic period colors,
chrome, upholstery, and trim reproduced using materials identical to the originals.
A thorough historical research accompanied the process to ensure the utmost authenticity.
The restoration is fully documented with comprehensive photographic and paper records.

This vehicle proudly holds the prestigious ASI “Targa Oro” certification, Italy’s highest recognition for historical and originality standards.
Included with the car:

ASI Technical Data Certificate,
Historical Vehicle Certificate,

Original Owner’s Manual (reproduction copy).

Model features

The FIAT 508 Balilla 4-speed, produced between 1934 and 1937, symbolized the rebirth of Italian motoring in the 1930s.
Its 995 cc inline-four engine produced 22 hp, allowing a top speed of approximately 90 km/h.
The addition of the 4-speed gearbox made it smoother and more versatile than the earlier 3-speed version.
Admired for its reliability and elegant design, the Balilla became a cultural icon of pre-war Italy.

Rarity and collector value

Few surviving examples exist today in such flawless, historically correct condition.
This outstanding specimen is undoubtedly among the finest available, offered at a price representing only a fraction of its restoration cost.

A unique opportunity for any enthusiast seeking a ready-to-drive, museum-quality FIAT Balilla.
