No mystery about this car ,its history, its transformations thru the years or where it lived-ALL is documented ! This is one of 19 produced in the transition from Flat Grill to Waterfall grill. The car comes with the Morgan Company Chassis record, original parts booklet ,registration papers ,service tickets from the 50s and 60s as well as records from recent ownership.
The car had a leak down and compression check 300 miles ago ,the numbers were as follows;
#1-180 lbs-5%,#2-170 lbs-5%,#3-165 lbs-5%,#4-170 lbs-10% .The engine is very strong. Documents show us that the car was sent to the Morgan Motor Company in 1969 to be fitted with a TR engine and all proper work needed to make it a viable motor train. The current status of mechanical is that the driveline is very tight ,strong, and responsive. The car has had regular servicing through the years.
The car shows no rust or wood disintegration. The doors shut nicely and tight. The paint is acceptable, it shows well but is an older repaint from the 60s,it has light patina. The interior is good with good working gauges ,nice leather and door cards as well as good carpets.
There is an article about the car along with pictures in the Winter 24 edition of MOG Magazine, this will come with the car along with all provenance documentation.
If you are seeking a strong, solid Plus 4 with a strong run and drive, this one needs explored for possible purchase.
